With six dogs in our house, there is a lot of the word NO… But I’ve learned that just saying No, doesn’t help. We practiced commands such as “Leave It” , “Down” , and “No, Bark” This helps eliminate confusion between the dogs and the kids!!!

I think one of the reasons my dogs are very well trained is due to the fact that I never change my routine or expectation of them. They no exactly what they can do, what they can’t and there’s no grey area where things can get confusing…

My dog and daughter have grown up together (both now 6) and it was fun in the early years trying to get them to leave eah others toys alone. I have two girls (ages 8 and 12) and two dogs. Training both the kids and the dogs to respect each other goes a long way toward reducing the amount of nipping, but still my dogs don't like toddlers, so I make sure to put them away when we have company with young kids in order to avoid any "accidents". .-= Mary Beth @ Toy Mower´s last blog ..Toy Lawn Mower =-.
