I think one of the reasons my dogs are very well trained is due to the fact that I never change my routine or expectation of them. They no exactly what they can do, what they can’t and there’s no grey area where things can get confusing…

Having a new puppy is always a joy as they can brighten up any home. However, training your puppy can be difficult, especially for first time owners. When it comes to house training your puppy, the rule is the earlier the better. Just like people, puppies develop differently. It's crucial that owners not push their pets.

Thanks for the tips. I've actually bought one of Dove Cresswells products in the past and found it to be very good indeed. Good to see how the dog trainer "of the stars" trains dogs...

With six dogs in our house, there is a lot of the word NO... But I've learned that just saying No, doesn't help. We practiced commands such as "Leave It" , "Down" , and "No, Bark" This helps eliminate confusion between the dogs and the kids!!!

My dog and daughter have grown up together (both now 6) and it was fun in the early years trying to get them to leave eah others toys alone. I constantly found myself having to say "no", I have to say though that over time the problems has disappeared and they both now leave each others toys alone.

I have two girls (ages 8 and 12) and two dogs. Training both the kids and the dogs to respect each other goes a long way toward reducing the amount of nipping, but still my dogs don't like toddlers, so I make sure to put them away when we have company with young kids in order to avoid any "accidents".
